I'd like to know how you came to this level in English, how you learned what you know. Was it at school or because it's your family's mother tongue?

For me, I learned by playing video games (especially the Final fantasy serie and RPG in general) and songs, that until I was 18.

Afterwards I entered a translation institute where my common days were with the financial time or wall street journal... firts exam: "Translate the Magna Carta". The very basis of British Common Law, written in 1215 by Prince John (the very one described in Robin Hood ^^)

I also taught to teenagers for 4 years, so it helped me to put things in place and have a better english structure, and not just "au feeling" as we say in french...

I've always liked english, since the 6e class. In 4e I entered the European section class and I stayed in it for 5 years (until the bac). It enabled me to practice pronunciation a lot more, to go to Ireland with my class twice and I also had some lessons in english : my math lessons were provided by an Irish teacher in 4e and "seconde" and it was history in 3e.
We also had to show personal work in english (projects presentation in front of the class) and we had to pass two english exam of the University of Cambridge : the PET (when I was 13) and the First (when I was 15 or 16)

Since I like english, it has always been easy for me to learn it. Thanks to this motivation I've quickly tried to read more in english (books, newspapers, magazines like "I love in english" during the lycée etc, and more recently manga scans)

When I go on trips I trie to use my knowledge as often as possible. When my studies will be finished, I'll try to go away from France and work in a foreign country *dream*

ah! I remember!! My first translation was Disney's Pocahontas history (yes... Pocahontas... XD ). My parents bought the book for me in an american airport so I had to translate it in French otherwise I couldn't understand it... At that time My dictionnary became my best friend .I was 12.

I am not a boss in english, but I know I am able to survive in an english talking jungle. I have been so many times in England (London, Chester, Brighton, Manchester suburbs, ...), two times in Canada (Toronto and Vancouver, such a great country !!), and I am used to translate english (reading in english sometimes, playing videogames in there american localisation,...).

Tora of my heart, all you need (is love xD) is training your English oraly ! I think you'll be a boss afterwards my sweetheart !!!

Most of all he needs to learn to seperate slang and rude words from his english.

This is the hard work ! I trained my english talking with youngies in England et Canada ! That's why I am always having such a strange vocabulary !
