Manga scantrads

Which scantrad of manga do you read actually? In English? In French? In other language?

Me, in English :
-Fullmetal Alchemist
-Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne
-Vampire Knight

In french :
-Naruto
-Yakitate Ja-Pan
-Shinshi Doumei Cross

I don't read scantrad of manga in this moment, but normally i read only in english ^^
The last I have read is "Hanamaru Go! Go!" (I should finish it one day ^^

I prefer animes and I take only which are subtitles in english ^^

2 years ago I used to read all the scantrads I could find interesting. Most of them were in english.
Now I regularly read on the net :
- One Piece
- Bleach
- Naruto
- Fruits Basket
- Perfect Girl Evolution
- Parfait Tic
- Hot Gimmick
I read them either in english or in french, it depends on what I find, but english translation often are on the net before french ones.

As for Animes, I try to watch them only with english subtitles like Naka. (I've tried with spanish subtitle once, it was hard... well it's another story ^^; )

I only read English scan trad, I don't read the French ones, I don't know why but I'm not used to. Besides, to me reading in French means buying them in English ...

Hot Gimmick?! Really?! I love this manga! Where could I read it before buying the next books?!

Err...In fact I download the chapters on a FTP which password is on IRC. I's a bit complicated ^^;. I don't know if you can find them somewhere else, unfortunately I've never looked for them through another method (perhaps I should...)

I really love this manga too. The main character (Hatsumi) is stupid but I'm fond of Tachibana

I'm worse in IRC than Spanish... Well, I'll wait the next books, the 7th will be publicated the 14th, with an another I love (and I found it in English on a website) : Host Club! But I can't read it well because the vocabulary is more complicated than the others scantrad I read.

Ok... I think I understand what you meant : reading a manga in french means that this manga has been bought and his in your hands... right?

I don't read scantrad either but I'm part of a scantrad team. And to be true I'm the one who translated "Hanamaru Go! Go!"

I also translate a manga called "Power!! She got game" and a manwha "Good Luck". And a yaoi doujinshi of Hikaru no go featuring Hikaru and Akira

.. I never read scantrad, as well in english or in french... Because I prefer to wait the French publication and buy it. And I don't have time for it, and I think too that I don't like to read texts on my computer. I prefer read in metro, train, at work, at bed etc...

But I have already watch animes with english or spanish subtitles... (and very often films in VO^^).

The advantage to read scan trad is discovering some mangas that may never be licensed in France. And sadly there are too many for me ...

As for manga which are published in France, scantrad can help to make a choice before buying a collection. I always try to support my favourite mangas by buying them but there are sooooo much that I enjoy reading!!

Me too ^^ , I can buy a lot of mangas because I already read them in english, now, i can read them in french ^^

Thanks to scantrad and mangavision my english level changed (7/20 to 16/20)
I'm reading naruto in french, and i never repport my actions to school.
Don't think you and me(or us) are the same...

Unfortunately I think Vermilion is not completely wrong when he says that some people read naruto scantrad just to brag about it at school... ^^;

These people should make better use of it and take this opportunity to learn AND have a good time reading a manga at the same time. I'm really convinced (like you Ama) that scantrad can help to improve understanding and talking english as long as you want it

i'm not kidding. The translators are most of the time "amateur translators", and translate "on the fly"

i don't read scantrads, i prefer the "official" versions.
